Dock Ellis & The LSD No-No

El 12 de junio de 1970, Dock Ellis, pitcher de los Pittsburg Pirates se despertó en la casa de una amiga de un amigo en Los Ángeles. Convencido de que tenía el día libre, se tomó otra dosis de LSD -llevaba ya dos días de fiesta-, hasta que su colega apareció en la habitación y le anunció que en unas horas debía jugar un partido en San Diego. Ellis se subió a un avión rumbo a sus compromisos deportivos y horas más tarde saltó al terreno de juego bajo los efectos psicotrópicos del ácido. Logró un no-hitter, o sea, que ningún bateador del equipo contrario alcanzó siquiera a golpear la bola.

El catcher tuvo que utilizar cinta fluorescente entre los dedos para tratar de que consiguiera fijar su vista y parte de su mente en sus indicaciones, ya que había jugado hasta arriba de LSD.
